About Us

About Us

Welcome to Montessori School Bali, a well-established and authentic Montessori school located on a sprawling and tranquil campus in the popular Berawa area of South Bali.

The sense of calm extends into our classrooms where children of all ages go about their day with dignity and purpose, making choices about what is right for them, and getting on with their learning.

Why Montessori School Bali?

We equip our students for the future by focusing on developing the character traits of adaptability, resilience and a confident love of learning.

Montessori School Bali is located on a beautiful campus specifically designed to support the Montessori approach to education.

Montessori School Bali opened in 1998 and has gradually grown over the years, moving to its current campus in 2017. The facilities have been purpose-built and the environment focuses on beauty and nature. All our guides are AMI-trained and all our assistants hold university degrees.

The Montessori approach is at once innovative and traditional

Dr Maria Montessori was ahead of her time in creating educational programmes that bring out the best in students and lead them to transform into the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow.

Used unique system called the Three-Period-Lesson To evaluate student progress

Used to introduce new concepts, prompt for recognition and question to confirm authentic evidence of learning. Continual monitoring of students allows Montessori trained guides to know when to redirect individual students to areas where they can repeat a lesson or work with classmates that are familiar with the concept.

Our campus

Purpose-built for a Montessori education

Montessori School Bali’s current campus opened in January 2017.

The spacious and airy classrooms are inspired by traditional Balinese pavilions, and allow children to move freely between indoors and outdoors. Large covered verandahs provide space outside the classrooms where children can work while sheltered from sun and tropical rain.

Each feature of this site is designed around the principles of Montessori education in order to enhance the personal development and learning experiences of students. The site holds all class levels and has space to eventually accommodate up to 280 students.
